Guess I should post a couple of pictures of my latest project.
    A Honda Transalp 650 from 2000.
It's not finished yet but it's coming on quite good.

Dang, those some fine bikes you guys. They had great lines over the years. They look considerably more dirt worthy than a Versys or a Wee, and have to better on the road than the KLR.

    Cool

    Great pic Herrstedt!!

I think Honda is really missing the mark by not bringing the current Transalp to the U.S. market.

and another pic to keep it on topic

    Hello Bombsquad

Unfortunately I think its too late because roumours tells its the end of the transalp and there will be no new :cry. Just as they quitted the Africa Twin 10 years ago. Off course its only roumours, but I think one gets the picture of where Honda is going when you look at the Crossrunner and Crosstourer which are very nice bikes, but without the feel and soul as the AT and TA´s. ( And the big Varadero too ).

Fortunately the bikes are so well build, that they will last forever and allready are living legends.:evil

Here's a pic of my TA after I picked it up from an inmate last November. He went with a more military paint scheme.

After putting on XR600R forks with progressive springs and a Wilburs shock and spring, I got the suspension look and performance I wanted while I went further with the paintwork by applying textured paint to the panels and spraying modern OD paint over the texture. it gives it a rough, cast armor look that has got plenty of compliments. I also wanted to save my stock side panels in case of a fall, so I made some out of kydex. It was my first time doing anything of this sort so I think they look a little rough but they have held up well since February!

This one shows its stance but with an unfinished panel from back when I was still working fitment out.

I'm working on a handmade rally fairing that's going to basically be a copy of modern KTM rally fairings, so whenever I get that done, I'll repost on here! Cheers from Indiana!
