I didn't mention it in my first post, but the focus on that old style gas cap kept me thinking about two different friends of mine that had that style cap slice their scrotums open in crashes and leave their nuggets down around their knees. Both were patched up OK, but I understand the one that laid in a puddle of gas for a bit was much more humble and meek after his accident. Ouch!

I couldn't help it - he made me say it :norton Most of my old bikes back in the day had that hazard too. Thank God I went off the back on my first lowside and way high over the top on my first highside.

Thats the one. She's in pretty decent shape just really dirty. Problem with the tranny but I'm not afraid. The whole reason I'm getting it is so I can learn to work on a bike. I also wanted something a little rare but not too rare so I can get parts. This one fit the bill.

I've already put money down on it. I should have it middle of March. She's a runner so I'm going to keep her running. I'll probably take it apart next winter.

I met this guy at a swap meet. His name is Steve Dales, lives in Vancouver B.C. the bike is a 69? 441 thats been bumped up to 512cc. He was selling gaskets and some other small parts. Check out www.britgaskets.ca I recognized the speedo and tach mount. After talking to him for 5 min, I was all fired up to get my Victor back on the road.

My 441 sounds like that. You get so used to how a jap bike sounds and feels, that old brit bikes scare you into thinking that any second they are going to blow up. The foot controls are reversed to, and that also takes some getting used to.
