    Who's arguing?

Put peanut butter in your engine if you think it'll help. I can't find a single reason to add anything other than the required oils.

You go with your peanut butter....I'll stick with moly (gears only).

Your discretion....now, have we satisfactorily answered the OP's question?

FWIW, I heard back from Blackstone today that they can do UOA on the FD fluid, so I'll send them a sample in a couple of weeks.

I'll be interested to see the UOA report. Thank you.

A quart of Guard Dog cost $50 and only does 7 quarts of gear oil. A quart of Dow GearGaurd M is $40 and does 5 gallons of gear oil at 5%.

I use about 4-8% moly additive by volume to GL-5. It doesn't take much.

And I purchase the 8 oz. bottle for $15.75 which lasts me years.

Additives to the GL5 are not necessary. The use of a premium grade synthetic might lower friction and increase fuel economy. A properly assembled gear b0x or FD does not require additive to prolong the component life.

For the final drive you want a 5% mix. This comes out to approximately 2.8 teaspoons per the 0.27 liters of oil.

For the trans you want a 3% mix and this comes out to about 5.5 teaspoons per the 0.8 liters of oil.

for the engine you want to add 2 tablespoons to the 3.75 liters of oil.

These are level tsp and tbsp not heaping.

These numbers are derived by weight and then converted to spoon measurements since everyone does not have scale to use.
