I wasn't sure where to put this, but after years on Road Warriors and Beasts I know a lot of us read Kevin Ash and his well-informed motorcycling columns. I'll certainly miss his insights. RIP Kevin http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring...otorcycling-correspondent-Kevin-Ash-dies.html
Oh man, that is sad news. I've read Kevin's articles for years now. He was a lovely, knowledgeable fella...RIP Kevin.
Ah jeez.......I've read his articles for years. He always read like a class act. I thought he was one of the best motorcycle reviewers out there. Just sad. RIP
I couldn't believe the news when I heard about it. I feel shocked. Been my #1 motorcycle journalist for quite some time now. R.I.P. You will be missed.
The only other motorcycle writer I place in the same class as Ash is Kevin Cameron. At least Ash went out doing what he loved best. There is no better way to go. I am sad that he is gone and I offer my sincere condolences to his friends and family.
Sad day for the industry and the sport. He was always quick to reply to comments on his articles, the bikes, his experiences.
Awwww geezzzzeee, that's terrible. Poor guy, I read and enjoyed his reviews and insights. He lived a good life that many riders would have enjoyed. Rest in peace Mr. Ash.
I read the news this morning and just can't believe it.. very tragic... and the note from his eldest daughter on his site drives this point home.. he will be sorely missed by a lot of people, especially his family.
I'm not sure if this belongs here, but folks who check in here regularly may want to know. Kevin Ash, a columnist & reviewer with a sharp eye & sharper pen, died in a BMW press intro in S. Africa yesterday. His blog, "Ash on Bikes" was widely read and commented on in this site & many others. Very few details yet, but the world community on 2 wheels lost a clear & insightful voice. His columns are well worth reading, most are worth reading more than once. My sympathy goes out to his wife & 3 daughters.
Oh man, there is another guy in one of the adv forums who went over there for this special bmw bike release. They were going to ride then new 2013 r1200gs like they stole em, on road, off road, over night. oh man, not good for BMW for a special bike release ride. RIP Ash
RIP Kevin. By far and away my favorite reviewer. The Roger Ebert of motorcycle reviews. Very sad news indeed. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Very, VERY Sad - Sounds as though he was a Great Husband, Dad and for sure an unbiased, truthful motorcycle reviewer. Another unfortunate real life example of the Fragile, Precious & Short this Adventure called Life really is and can be. RIP
Very sad indeed. He was my age. Killed on a BMW. He was one of my favorites, along with Kevin Cameron and Peter Egan.
