I rode a short section of the Lolo Motorway this weekend, from Powell, ID to FR 107.

Road conditions were very good. There was some snow on the road, but you can easily ride around. All downed trees were cut so you can continue through without leaving the roadway.

This is a counter-clockwise loop. Views were spectacular! Elevations ran from a low of about 2800 feet to almost 7000 feet.

Here's the elevation profile, which includes my ride down from Missoula.

Papoose is a little more fun than Parachute.

You are quite right my friend. I had to come down Papoose in my truck earlier that week.

Parachute is about 1/2 mile north of the Powell Ranger Station turnoff and I believe the official route. Papoose is south of the ranger station on route 12.

If you're going up Parachute, the lookout tower is a short jaunt east.

Yeah, I feel bad about not running the whole thing. There's plenty more I'd be doing if I weren't doing it alone. I promised the girls at the Lolo Pass Visitors center that I'd stop back before they closed at 5:30 to let them know I was alright.

The huckleberries must be in season, they're featured in stores everywhere.
