South Metro Meetup

This will be the "official" thread for the south metro meetup... We got used to moving from place to place, so it's still in a different place every week, and that will be as far as I can see in the future.

This is every Wednesday starting around 6pm until nobody is still sitting at the table(s).... first person there should get the table(s).

This post may not be updated before a specific Wednesday. Please read the last page or two of the thread to know where we'll be...it's open for discussion every week. DO NOT RELY ON THIS POST!!!

These were chosen as our "regular" spots:

• Doghouse Tavern (3100 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, CO‎ (39.654578,-105.047424) ) (Lots of room, quiet, large patio, attentive staff)
• Alibis Bar & Grill (7983 South Broadway, Littleton, CO‎ (39.571387,-104.989265) ) (very nice by all accounts, good MC parking, lots of windows to view the lot, the staff wasn't ready for the group)
• The Rusty Bucket (3355 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, CO&#8206; (39.654879,-105.082075) ) <-- very nice all around. Quiet enough to have conversations, full menu, and full bar.. not fancy, but not a dive.
• The Shack (151 West Mineral Avenue, Littleton, CO (39.57524,-104.990073) ) <-- more of a restaurant with a bar than a bar that serves food. Nice. Has a patio for summer.

Did anyone besides me not look at the forecast (ie. did anyone else ride to work today)?

I didn't realize that at 8pm the chance of snow goes up to 70 or 80%.

Cold is one thing... slick roads suck

Leaving home now.

Sorry guys. I never made it last night which is so unlike me, I always make beer night (ask any of the inmates in Fort Collins)... The company I work for had a meeting yesterday and there was beer involved afterwards.... with the snow falling and me finding out one of my headlights was burned out, I didn't think it was a good idea to go driving anywhere last night.

Brilliant idea and the first reason I've had to regret no longer working down there.

No worries.

I don't expect that everyone will make every meetup. Three of us showed up. With the combination of weather, different locations, work, and life in general, I don't expect that every week will have a huge group.

If even a few people wanted to make it but life got in the way, we can easily put it back on the list.... see how flexible that is.

I may keep track of how many people show up to each place so that I know what not to put back on the list.

Count me IN for this wed (03Feb10) at BeauJo's.

Also wouldn't mind seeing another dinner @ The Shack, couldn't make last week's because I was out playing in tits-deep snow

Gotta get a kitchen pass, but i'll ask. :dg
