Oh yeah I love the Viking culture, so for me is one of my favorite series already, plus the fights are awesome too..

    Justified is awesome.

Lots of good BBC stuff on there as well. They just seem to do serious TV a helluva lot better than we do:
    Luther
    Whitechapel
    Inspector Lewis
    Doc Martin

I'm a bit of an Indiophile so this may not apply to you, but The Story Of India is fantastic.

If you're into music, Sound City is a great film.

Lately the wife has gotten into Sons of Anarchy. I'm giving it a 6.5/10.

    Yep. ooooops on my part.

Another great music documentary/travelogue on Amazon Prime is Throw Down Your Heart.

Oh, and add Wallander to the list of great BBC series.

So far one thing i dislike about prime is that is your watching a series and stop you need to look for the chapter you where watching instead for the program do in it automatically, besides that great programing...

If you put the show in your Watchlist, should be easy to find and pick up again.

That said, about a year ago Amazon deliberately made it much, much harder to use Prime Video. They had a fantastic search function which they turned into something that is very hard to use. I think Prime was costing them too much and there was resistance to a big hike in the cost of Prime.

For a documentary that's free, check out Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Excellent.

For a fantastically creepy movie that's free, get Let the Right One In with English subtitles. Slow, Swedish vampire movie that's different.

The guy who wrote Hitchhiker's Guide also wrote something I prefer, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.

It's about a detective whole solves crimes by looking at "the fundamental interconnectedness of all things." Yeah, he's a BS artist. Or... is he?

The BBC made a short run of shows based on the character, before they cut it for budgetary reasons. They're on Prime (free, I think) and I like them quite a lot.

That's one drawback to Prime. Things appear and disappear. Sometimes I'll search through the Prime list and find half a dozen things to put on my watchlist for later. A month later I'll go to watch it and, while it's still available, it won't be on Prime anymore. They probably use an algorithm that combines copyright, popularity, age, and other factors to decide whats on Prime and for how long. It's just one of the reasons they're all a helluva lot richer than I'll ever be.

There's a newish streaming service called Acorn TV consisting mostly of British TV that carries the Dirk Gently series as well as many other good Brit shows that don't show up on Amazon or Netflix.

I've also found a lot of Brit TV on DVD at Costco.

Until I need some free shipping, I didn't have any desire to renew. I didn't like how the free offerings revolved and didn't think the content was all that great.

Transparent, with the great Jeffrey Tambor, won two Golden Globe awards this evening. It's an Amazon series and it's on Prime for free. He's an aging patriarch who comes out as a transgender, I believe I read. He's funny and I'm going to check it out.
