I'm wondering what it would take to get some ATV trails in the CVNP. Is this even worth pursuing? Where would I even start?

I mean they could just use the old roads that run through the park and link them together with bits of single track.
They could use the same rules and regs as the use in Wayne National Forest.

BTW, what is the difference between and National Park and a National Forest?

    Pipe dreaming,
    Al

Don't think that will ever happen... it took many years to get the towpath bicycle trail accepted...

Gas powered machine recreation is not considered conducive to "preserving and restoring" natural habitats...

Cuyahoga Valley National Park is a United States national park that preserves and reclaims the rural landscape along the Cuyahoga River between Akron and Cleveland in Northeast Ohio. The 20,339.22-acre (8,231 ha)[1] park is administered by the National Park Service and is the only national park in Ohio. It was established in 1974 as the Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area and was designated as a national park in 2000.

As far as the differences, Nat parks goal is to preserve unhindered, the land and resource.
Nat forests are "managed with intent of multi use ventures" such as timber, hunting and fishing, and promote responsible use of those assets while leveying funds from the products harvested...

Before it was CVNP and I was in high school we used to ride there.Where the parking lot on 303 for the happy days visitor center is, used to be a track in the field and a loop through the woods.
While it is great that we have it, the "park" part is what causes problems, that's why we have to hire sharpshooters to cull deer, can't ride bikes pedal or motor, etc.

Back in 90whatever we used to MTB in the valley. That was banned, now I'm fat. I blame the CVNP. To make it up to me they should let me ride my DR on the horse trails.

I was riding the trails as a Maple hgts resident since mid 80's, they grew longer. and end at a really suck point, ar as when i last rode them they did/// this trail system should go to thE states border, and interlink with all of the nations abandoned rails./trails... get it on, i'd rather pedal, and camp.

BigArn pulled in about 200 yards in front of me so technically he got there first.

FatherX, did you ride any of the trails out behind that shopping center? I tooled around there for a bit. There was a guy who trucked his dirt bike in there and was riding around too. Probably illegal but I didn't see any signs...

Spent the following couple hours cruising around the industrial areas of downtown Cleveland and the flats.

Didn't ride the terrain. Was on a mission ;)

    Great day for riding.

I had my 14 yo daughter with me. We headed south east out of Thompson to Burrows road and shredded the gravel around
Footville for a while, then home through River/Blaire/Paine Creek.

    Good Day.
