I've kinda put my part of this on hold until after my move (on Christmas). Then once its riding weather again i'm going exploring in the Osage country.

That's going to be one of the more scenic parts of the trail! :ricky
Pick up where I left off in Cleveland, should be a nice ride.

download either garmin basecamp, or google earth. If you get basecamp also download the free topo maps available on gpsdepot

as far as a gps, i would sugest one that is waterproof, and the best one's will have a cradle system to where you don't half to plug in plugs, just clicks in. the garmin zumo line is cool. alot use the nuvi 500 also

How did you determine it was routed through private property? I was looking forward to riding it the way you had it, I think I will still give it a try but it will be after the first of the year.
I have ridden a lot of the new route a couple of years ago, that is a fun ride also. Right through the middle of a buffalo herd :eek1

I just finished the OAT yesterday, joined by Cropear most of the way.
We inadvertently followed the October version of the route.

He's the tech guy and will be posting our route soon. I'll chime in with additional comments about gated roads, private property, etc. and will answer any questions.

    Nice job OKlr. Thanks.

We followed the posted route as best as we could, but there were places we had to reroute.
So, yes, I did the whole thing, but my tracks will differ from OKlr's route occasionally.

    I'd do it again, too.

I should get back to work, but......

Details will come later, but I left Frederick (home) Wednesday morning and got back here Tuesday afternoon.
I covered 1562 miles; this includes the miles getting to and from the route.

This boy deserves a metal! :deal Or something.

We deserve a ride report.

You spent an entire week away from home without ever leaving Oklahoma? Well except for that little into Texas and Arkansas.

I was looking at it on google earth and realized that it was routed through a back yard of a guys trailer, then it went into a bunch of private property.

I used the odot county maps and looked at the roads that were gravel or dirt and used them. the new route through osage county goes through the buffalo grazing area too. should be cool.

That is GREAT!! i'm really excited to hear about it. Since i havn't been able to and ride the route myself i've mostly just been making it from the office. Hope you guys took some pictures. Give us any updates we need to make to the trail and i'll get it changed.

I should add a list to the first page of usernames of people that have rode the entire thing.

This is SE OK. Areas of Red are area that are either gated or contested. At least two of the red lines should be removed as they where gated with the word "Hunting Club" in the title.
