Gunnison! One summer, I was sent away to live with my relatives near there when I was a bad teenager. Gooooood times.

Great town, great place to ride. In--we'll see if I can clear the dates so my GF can come, as well. :clap

I love it! Bad Teenager, we'll fix you. Go to Gunnison and redneck it all summer(camping, fishing, wheeling, beer drinking......). I wish my parents did that to me when I was a bad teenager.:lol3

Brother Rick and Brother Bob will be in attendance and will lead some big bike friendly dirt rides - or at least as many as we can loop together. Should be a blast.

I'm still a newly, but I might like to attend. But since I am shy, that's about all I can offer right now. :)

I was looking at the cabins for the KOA, but they all say bring your own linens. Don't think I can pack my sheets and comforter on my bike with everything else I may need to bring.

Is there a nice little hotel or something nearby? Someplace nice and quiet, with a masseuse on hand? I have a feeling I may need it after riding for three or four hours just to get there.

Newbreeze. You can throw your sleeping bag on the bed and not need sheets. Many motels in town and a few west of town on US50. Nothing wrong with tenting on this one. The KOA is at the end of the airport and as long as they don't have any Asian Airline service into/out of Gunny, we should be safe there.

Yep, Great tenting here. All of the sites are on level grass spots. +1 on bringing your sleeping bag for the Kabins. Hotels are about 1 mile from the KOA. The Airport is closed from 2230-0600 except for emergencies.

I don't have a sleeping bag. I know, that makes me a freak. But I stopped camping years ago. I may just get a hotel room nearby. But I will have to figure out how to get there. Someone said it may not be a good idea for me to ride my bike there, ride it on the trails, and then expect to ride it home.

NB - as time gets closer and more people are watching this thread, you can put out a feeler for someone from your area coming to the event with a trailer. You might be able to split gas or something and hitch a ride to Gunny. Seen that done at RMAR several times.
