Great post and picks. I did a 6K miles this summer taking about two and a half weeks starting in Orange county CA to Jasper Canada, zigzagging on the West side of N. America. What a great bike and wonderful roads. The bike performed flawlessly besides pulsating brakes, (warped rotors???) that I noticed at the end of the trip. The rotors were replaced under warranty and as per BMW service bulletin. <u1></u1>I like your Isotta and will probably get one as well. Thank You for starting this post! Cheers
i got A megamoto a few weeks ago.What a bike it is, but the tank is WAY to small for me.I am really close to order the HPN tank from BMW Atlanta. Did somebody see this tank for real,not on a pic on a mega.How does it look? thanks...Jonas
This underseat tank looks a lot neater solution than the HPN tank, and keeps the bike's look a lot cleaner and original, I think. Holds about 7 litres, so should take the fuel range to around 200 miles I'd guess. http://www.gs-equipment.de/page1.php
Here are a couple of links regarding this tank. I think you will see that it is a very high end piece. The bulletin number is 34 006 08, if you have the new version of rotors apparently you wouldn't need the service. I experienced the pulsations only after 15K miles on my bike. Cheers

Whats the cause of the pulsations with the old rotors and how do the floating rotors cure the problem. I haven't experienced any problems yet.
Add another for Sydney, Aust. I have seen at least 2 more on the roads here and I was told my the dealer that there are about 30 MM's Aus wide. Cheers, Terry
The old rotors are also floating as per the tech who installed the new rotors. I had a K1200S with 24K miles on it when I sold it and no pulsations or other brake issues. With the introduction of the non power assisted brakes new rotors with "softer" compound were put on the bikes in order to achieve higher friction and less effort on the lever. The new material however is more prone to warpage and many people on this forum complained about it and that was also my case, but again only after 15K miles on the bike I experienced the problem. The new design of the rotors allows for different "spring" washers and more floating that would compensate for the eventual warping that might develop one day. Cheers Megaman

I think both tank solutions compromise the looks of the bike, but for me, the underseat tank less so. The frequesnt filling can be a bit of a pain on a long trip, but wasn't a deal breaker on not buying the bike. I always knew from the outset the tank range was poor and the seat a bit of a plank. 160-170 miles is a range I have only dreamed of despite drilling the filler neck. I don't doubt it's possible, just not when my hand's attached to the throttle Around 130-135 seems pretty reliable per tank to me in all round use, with the light coming on around 95-100. In the constant rain I did see the light come on at 112 miles - a personal best I haven't run dry yet, but have had the range indicator down to 2 miles.

Keep in mind that in <st1lace>N. America</st1lace> there are bigger stretches of roads where you don't have to stop for a while and that could be the reason for the better mileage. Cheers
These are from the 800GS. Good fit, just need to take note of the proximity of the top screws of the inner clamps to the brake and clutch reservoirs. I just cut a thin strip of the hook side of a velcro tape and slot it in between and its good to go.
Are your handgrips standard? They look to be the same as my Rockster items, which are a bit less harsh to the grip than the ones on my MM.
Grips are from the RT, probably the same as those on the Rockster. The original MM's grips are a pain to remove though.....
