Once you get it opened up, and hopefully find the tappet screw, have a close look at that rocker arm and the end of the valve stem. If they made contact without the screw in place, and they probably did, there will be signs of damage that will need to be addressed. Keep us informed.

I'm ~160lbs, looking at a used 2007 DR650 that has stiffer suspension set-up for a 200lb rider. If I'm not a real aggressive rider just using it on back roads & gravel will the ride quality suffer greatly vs oem suspension?

If I had a shop set it up the suspension for my weight what price range can I expect to spend please ?

winter is really starting to wear on me. It snowed again today and will again on Sunday & Monday. I've been sick for 2 weeks and don't see an end in sight.
I want to get out in the garage and tear into my rear suspension bearings for a grease treatment. I need to hit the steering bearing with some grease too.

It will almost certainly be just fine. It will definitely be better than the limp stock setup.

Different riders (and shops) have a widely varying definition of what 'set up for a 200 lb rider' means. Ride it for at least several hundred miles and see how you like it. Make any changes based on what it needs to be better for you.

Odd, but our TV news made a big deal that it was raining in Phoenix today. The anchorwoman went to college there and said it only rains in the summer. (well, not anymore!)

Said that cheap seats at the Super Bowl are selling above $7000 a seat.

They found a pair of tickets on the 50 yd line, 20 rows back for $50K

50K, I'd fly out, buy a new DR and ride around with you and leave it there and still have enough money left to come every winter for the next 15 winters
