Some of the best roads in the east..
BikeNight was in Belfast, VA .
It's like 40 miles from the farm.
It's at a Gas Station that has 100% gas ..
The owner has a big car show on Sat,night
always has a live band on the weekends...

The end of Aug... He is doing a Beach party..
He's going to haul in tons and tons of sand.
    To have Beach games...
Plus you can join in the games only if you show up on a BIKE or a HotRod/show car ..
    Kind of cool...

    Our neighbors....
Charlie (FenderMender) and Jackie rode over with us.

Boy oh boy did they have a huge turn out.
The station had a Local BlueGrass band; raffles & a 50/50. (none of us won anything)
The owner made the rounds greeting to all who showed up,must have been about 100 bikes..

Mostly HD.. But a nice mix of every thing in between..
There was even a Rocket III ~ SS Big Dog~ And a good deal of other metric bikes
    [IMG]

We had a good time Pulled back in the driveway around 11:30 pm.
Sorry not many pix.. The battery went dead in the camera and I didn't bring the spares.

I know it wasn't a big Adventure ... But just getting out and ride ride ride is always a good thing...:ricky

Plus Don & I love riding at night...

Here's the link to a few more photos....

Our Dirt roads called to us on Saturday…
I know some of you Inmates have been on this end of BurkesGarden...
We had been on it a few times with the Toyota but never all the way with the Valks..
We would turn around at the halfway point and head back to the main road…
    But not this time!!!
Now you know we aren’t riding GS or Dual Sports..
Just our big ole Valkyries… And it can be a challenge..
    Even on my BlackBeast...
But we are always game to ride a dirt road…
That is some what in decent shape...
Hmmm.. But I guess after our ride in KY I think we can do just about
any dirt road that we set our minds to..

So we headed over to Burkes Garden

So we took a ride to Burkes Garden up the paved road then we left out the back way..

The road was in great shape nice n hard for the most part …
Only a little wet at one turn… But a few rocky parts.
That really playhard on street tires...
The dirt side does a lot of up and down and over many mountain ridges.
    With some great switch backs….

The road was a little ruff in a few places with some rock out crops…

It’s only 11 miles of dirt.. But we had a blast…The whole time…

Don dodged deer , and I saw a nice looking Grouse. And a few snakes.
We stopped at about the halfway mark and took a little walk down a path.
Thought it would be a nice place to camp sometime..

The dirt drops you off on Rt 42 Sharon Springs ..

What my bike looked liked at the halfway point..

and this is what our Valks looked like after the full length of dirt..

Then we took that to rt.621 another cool paved road..
It has wide white lines on the sides of the road with out the center line painted…

That drops you at the top of Big Walker Mountain by the Gen.Store

Then we rode the back way to Wytheville for some sea food at Ocean Bay…

Backtracked a little bit to 621 then to 42 on to Wilderness Rd.
then grabbed rt.16 for more Va.Fun….

One must always try to grab a cool shot…

Stopped in town as they where having a street vendor thingy but we rode to it way to late…
As at 6 pm it was all ready done and finished…. Looked like they had a good turn out…
Downtown Tazewell was having a street dance later in the evening, but we decided to head for home…

All I can say is dang do have some great roads here in SWVA….
Plus it was a grand day for a little dirt riding :thumb

We like bloochdog & Banshee.. They are a fun bunch...

We just don't have the best ground clearance..
But my Blackbeast bike is a little higher then my GreenBeast...
And Highbinder likes that Burgundy bike for dirt roads...
LOL.. They have NOT been washed yet :poser
Heck ya run fast enough on paved roads ya can blow the dust :thumb

Well my favorite GreenBeast will be out of rides for a while. :cry ..
After 141k miles the rear brakes are sticking really bad...
    I don't think that a good thing ....

Our ride to meet up with a bunch of the ~~
Valkyrie Owners Association International Riders. ..

    They had there reunion in Marlinton, West Virginia this year;
Marlinton was in our old stomping grounds so how could we not go :dunno .

    We left around 9 ish ..Stopped in White Sulphur Springs for dinner & a cup of coffee;
    We took 219 to 92 to 39 and back to 219;
We didn't want to hit Lewisburg as the WV State fair was on.
It was grand day for a mid day ride.

When we rolled into the Motel, all the other Valkyrie riders where out on rides of their own.

So we took the time to wipe the Dragons down a little...:augie
    Not something we do often..

Then we hit the pool to cool off.. We could hear the Dragons (Valkyries) rolling into the motel.
This was the first time I have seen full Givi luggage on a Valkyrie ..

We met up with a few friends and it off to supper
A nice jaunt up to Slaty fork for food.

We had eaten there a long time ago.
Good food a little pricey .
Highbinder (Don) Had a Lamb & Quail

    I had Grouper & scallops.

Our friends have never been there .. So we all ate with passing the binoculars around to look at the rock climbers..

After we ate it was off to Spruce Knob ..

Wow they paved the road.. Cool.. It use to be dirt.

From this point on Highbinder took point and we cut thru the woods .
We took the group to Snowy Mountain road and Hardscrabble .

Then it was back to the motel for more partying !!

Wow, you guys really have fun :clap

How rewarding to see a fun couple out having great times on bikes! :1drink

So did you join in any of the games at the beach bash (that were free since you rode in on bikes)? Or did they not get a photo of you doing the limbo? :eek1

It's also very inspiring to see you helping so much with the camping - starting fires, setting up tents, and that kind of stuff :D

Thanks for the reports; looking forward to meeting you guys hopefully soon at BWDR. :freaky
