I think he decided to leave some plastic shrapnel in the bottom of the engine. It wasn't possible to get it.
He found a Nissan valve guide, and had it machined to fit into the plunger, then welded a location bracket to fit the Honda cam chain guide. The stock plunger was too short for the much different Honda part ( top & bottom sliders) .
Right at dark, he started the engine and it ran smooth. Broke down for 48 hours, and spent $28to fix. Pretty cool.
15 soles for lathe work , 8 soles each for sliders , 10 soles for Nissan valve guide.

Looks like a real mean track on your sled. How deep are those paddles?

That one is only 2.25. It's a Hillclimb track. Not the best in the loose snow.

Life is good . T-shirt weather after the high altitude, had ice pellets hitting us at 4500 M asl.

The KLR is strong in this one. Elastic bands AND a clothespin in one shot!

Ride safe Kari. Dare I ask when (if) you're coming back?

Thanks for the clothespin idea. Now I have the perfect solution to keep my TTR125R choke lever from slowly closing when the bike's warming up (while riding). Brilliant!
