I thought this was a bit relevant. One of the El Paso mayoral candidates is using a skateboard to talk to voters.

I'm sure this wasn't directed at me, but just to make sure, that photo of the bowl I posted, is NOT me. Just a pic I found online showing the shape of the bowl. I couldn't touch that coping with my hand, if I ran and jumped up the transition! That end is deep! My 4yo daughter was there cheering me on the whole time I was down in there skating the lower 2' of it! She's just learning to stand on a board and roll, but wanted to try the skatepark out! I kept telling her she needs to practice first....but she kept asking to roll down the hills! Soon.

For my 21st birthday, my mom put together a neat shadowbox for me. Last unused deck I have from Mankind Skateboards. If anyone is from the saylorsburg, PA area, and know of a Jervis Levance, let me know. I lost contact with him awhile back and would like to give him a call sometime.

Finally got back over to the park today. Played around on the quarters and roll-ins. Had a few "step offs" and now my ankles are sore! Apparently I'm too old and fat to land on and run across concrete while moving faster than I can run!

This is the area I've been playing around on:

It's not a great park by any stretch of the imagination, but it's the ONLY free public park in Raleigh...a city of nearly half a million!

I rented it through Amazon the other night. Good flick. Crazy how old they all look now. Mullen is as weird as ever.
Yep, I had heard good things about it, so I just bought the DVD a couple weeks ago. I think I might have to go back and buy the whole Bones Brigade box set now.

I'm almost 39 and haven't skated in 2 years. Tore my backyard ramp down last year. But I'm itching to skate again, so I think I'm hitting the skate shop for new shoes this weekend.

For a few years, about '08 to '11, my friends came over for a cookout that got dubbed The Old Man Skate Jam. This is me on the invitation that we made for '09...

All I see are popsicle sticks!

I'm happy with my 151 "Angel" and my Black Label/Emergency Lucero.

Ricky, long before you came to California, there was a skate park on Alameda island. I think I still have my membership card somewhere... we took BART to Fruitvale station, and then pushed to the park. It had no vertical at all, just five snake runs with bowls at the bottom. But everything was done in shotcrete, so it was possible to skate across all the snake runs, too. Lots of fun.
