Get ready dude! From Tres Lagos north to about 50 miles south of Bajo Carcoles is all ripio. Also, unless you have about 310 miles range of gasoline make sure you stop at Gobenador Gregores. It is a little out of the way on your route but it is the only place until you get to Bajo Carcoles.

Made it to El Chalten. The Internet sucks. Going hiking tomorrow. May try and update tomorrow.

Either that, or he is starving/freezing to death. Should we be worried?

I'm not. He is more than capable. Plus his spot tracker is moving around.

He has a SPOT. If he gets into trouble, I'm sure he'll use it. He's probably out having the time of his life.

For who is concerned, he is out hiking, not riding.. And he was in military so yes he is very capable and he will be fine.. no worry! He will report back when he can. :thumb

    :rofl

I just had a good laugh reading all of the comments...nice to see that everyone is concerned for me! I just got out of El Chalten. I've been doing some hiking for the past couple of days and there hasn't been any good internet access.

And, yes, it is my birthday. To celebrate, I splurged and got a proper hotel room. I'm currently eating anchovies and cheese and a drinking a can of Brahama beer. I'm seriously considering going to a Parilla tonight and getting some asado. As there isn't much to do in this town, I'll probably post up some reports and postpone the party until I get somewhere like BA or perhaps Oregon. :D

Bryce, All that commotion you're hearing is because the new Pope is an Argentinian! They should be rockin' the house everywhere tonight!

Happy birthday again, this time on your actual birthday Bryce!

But then, how could it not be? A birthday as part of a sojourn you'll have fond memories of all your days.
