No that's the PO's house. I have a decent 4 bedroom colonial with a 2 car garage but not much land.

Thanks for the spread sheet link. But what i'm searching for is used parts and accessories that fit the 'X' bikes. If anyone can guide me that direction, i'd be most obliged!

Just the regular "Parts" section of the Flea Market. You can only see the flea market while you're signed in.

I've searched quite a bit...maybe using less than ideal keywords, I don't know, but has anybody fabbed a removable cargo plate (Caribou style) to adapt larger loads to the Tourtech / genuine BMW small tail rack? Something simple and flat or shallow basket-ish? TIA

I'm preparing to install oil temperature gauge, who knows for sure which direction does the oil flow? :rofl

Pipe 9 which runs under the engine - returning to tank or feeding the engine circuit?

Remove the dipstick while the engine is running. Shine a light into the tank and you can observe the oil flow returning to the tank. Memory is vague regarding direction, so best to check for yourself.

    Impossible!
Both tubes enter all the way down in the lowest "growth" of the tank, and you can only see so far through the filler neck...

The parts fiche calls hose #4 the oil return line. I assume this means return to the tank. The long metal line is called the inlet line. Again I assume this means engine inlet (or supply). One might be able to verify this with the heat from the oil returning to the tank from the hot engine. I would try this. From cold, start the engine and feel the heating effect at the two elbows near the bottom of the oil tank during warmup. The one that warms up first and that gets the hottest is the return line from the engine to the tank. Good luck.

    Oh,of course!! :D
The simplest things are often the most genious...

The fiche is what also confused me, because part 4 is called return hose...However if would be more logical that the scavenger pump picks up at the bottom of crankcase, which is where pipe 9 goes...

It seems pipe 9 gets warmer first, but access is v. restricted, so hard to tell exactly.

You are right. I saw the inflow when I was refilling the tank after a oil change. I did check today and saw oil spitting into the tank from the top tube.

Apologies if this has been asked and answered already:
Has anybody determined the reserve range of the X-Challenge after the Touratech long range tank has been fitted?

The TT tank is gravity fed into the main tank, so reserve range should be the same.

My question on the TT tank is, does it drain/feed into the main tank fast enough during fill up, or do you have to fill both tanks?

If it's anything like my Acerbis tank, you'd need to fill the main tank, then the reserve tank.
