    Fantastic conversion! :clap
The tank-seat combo looks very much like the one I had planned for my VTX "All-Road" project.
Very nice and we all want more details, I don't have a clue what bike it started as.

    FAIL ! :rofl:rofl:rofl

So, the idea was to build the wrecked VTX into an "all-road" ADV bike.
Nice big V-twin engine for low rpm riding with more than enough power to haul anything.
I bought it at an insurance auction a couple years ago.

What a porker! even removing all the steel I could it is still over 700 lbs.
The engine alone weighs over 300 lbs. The crank is 42 lbs!

I did a mock up with a tiny fuel tank, a spare seat, a Husky USD front end, ATV shocks, and other bits to see how it would be before continuing with the project.

I'm sure glad I didn't put much money into the conversion as it is terribly overweight.
I would have to carry a small crane to pick the bike up when I drop it.
And I consider my DR650 as "heavy metal". :puke1

I had planned a one piece fuel tank/seat base unit to get the fuel as low as possible and raise the seat height at the same time.
Saved myself a lot of hours by not building that! And replacing that stupid air filter... :eek1

This is an example of why some projects may be possible, but not smart. :cry

Now I am thinking "reverse trike" similar to the T-Rex... Heh-heh-heh :lol3

Glad you didn't waste too much money on the project.

now if you want to waste a ton of money, then build something like this useless machine.

Damn close! Kawasaki ZX10R. Underseat tank, fully revised rear linkage, and a whole lot of other stuff. Road registered, and used. (But it's one dangerous mutha!) :D

It was a good effort though. I had a similar idea (dependable Honda shaft drive v-twin) until a spent a couple of days on a friends 1100 Shadow and I got over it.

Oh I've heard all about some of Laurie's exploits, lets just keep it simple with the following.
    random: "jealous?"
    me: "hell yes".

No, I only hear tidbits, though I'm sure I still have reason to be jealous.
