So the trip I am on, is perhaps not the most thought out thing I have ever done in my life. Saying this however it is turning out to be a really good, be it cold time.
I brought a 1980 Honda CT110 for the sum of $1300. From a older gentleman on the sunshine coast of B.C Canada. Why it is called the sunshine coast I am yet to find out. From there I took the ferry over to Vancouver island. where I have been riding around in search of waves. The weather is what I can only imagine you would describe as less the perfect for a motorcycle trip and living in a hammock
This is my first ever motorcycle trip. I have no idea where it will take me or how long it will last. But so far so good.

    A little chilly but beautiful.

All the stuff I am cramming on to the poor little CT.

Here is a sample clip of the absurd nature of the trip thus far.

    A little cold but beautiful.

As the proud owner of a 1967 CL90, I am happy to see an overloaded old bike used, to make new stories rather than sit around having stories told about it.

I did a few 100+ mile rides on a trail 90 years ago, so I am really impressed on seeing your load and distance covered. Hope you find some great surf on your journey. I'll be reading along as you post. JB

Love it, old bikes and surfboards, doesn't get any better. Good luck, stay safe and hope the surf gods are good to ya.

So, how did you find Steamers? Hope none of the old boyz gave you a hard time for sampling "their" waves. If you should happen to run into a soul surfer named Jay Olivares in Santa Cruz, I can attest that he's a good guy who's been surfing there for decades.

Very cool. I'll be watching this for sure. I have an '84 CT110. The thought of traveling on it has crossed my mind, but I was thinking more along the lines of an overnighter in the mountains. This is interesting to see you riding it so far. Do you ride on the shoulder/white line? Since I have one, I know they don't go very fast. :D I've read 50mph tops, but I haven't been able to get mine up to that speed.

Thanks for all the comments guys.
Santa Cruz has been a good time.
Getting back on the road this tuesday. Baja bound. But will be riding a bicycle into Baja.

The bicycle has some pretty crazy tires on it for sand. So with any luck I will be able to get to some empty surf spots.
Will keep the updates coming when I am back on board the CT.
if you care to follow the bicycle/surf journey you can do so at www.bicyclerust.com.
