    Ha, that's a great question!

Ohlins have a pretty good support level on Dakar, but more importantly the equipment they offered was far and above what the team could reach for price point wise. The equipment is as good if not better than anything else, but they also helped him with settings straight from the factory based on their experiences with David Casteu.

Simon's support is carrying all the spares they need for the race too (one full set of Ohlins suspension and the standard) so that won't be an issue.

I've ridden it a lot now, the suspension has made that bike go from wallowing whale to a weapon, it's mega! Plus there steering damper is THE best in the world.

As to why I didn't get accepted, well I don't really understand it. They said the level was too high, my experience wasn't high enough, but many riders who are relative beginners were accepted and many other good riders around the world were rejected.I don't know the real reason, or if there is a reason.

    But that Ohlins, DAMN.

Llew the reason is...cos they can, after many encounters with French racing bureaucracy, they do things because they can. ( especially if your not French)

Well thats it, Simon has left Wales en route to Lima. They are meeting Don, the second Delta Kuststoffe Husqvarana rider there for final prep and shake down over the next few days. Llel is travelling with them to cover the race and provide regular updates that we will post right here....

That's a LONG podcast, but it was easy enough to skip forward to Simon and Llewellyn.

And wow, that was great. It's worth it just to hear about the Rally in China. That was a great story. Not surprising, now that I think about it.

I'll bet it's because the French can't pronounce Llewelyn :D

But then again they did give Boldbaatar Damdinkhorloo an entry

I found this explanation of Welsh pronumciation on line:

LL is peculiarly Welsh and difficult to describe. Form your lips and tongue to pronounce the letter L, but then blow air gently around the sides of the tongue instead of saying anything. The nearest you can get to this sound in English is an l with a th in front of it: (THL)

    E as in English.

W is OO (as in Zoo)

    E (again)

    L as in English

    Y is EE

    N as in English

    So that's THL-E-OO-E-L-EE-N

My gods the French never stood a chance :D

Et welwyn (prononcé welyn) est la ville en Angleterre où je travaille
