My 2010 F650GS had a flat rear tire waiting for me after work last night. The guys from the motor pool saved the day with a compressed air canister and it was just a loose valve core. But this got me thinking, can one use flat fixing compounds with tires that have TPM? I'm pretty old school and haven't a clue...

    Thanks, Roper

You can use it, and many have. It may plug up the sender sensor hole, but solvent has always worked for me to clean it back out.

Interestingly, a leaking valve core is covered under warranty because the valve core is part of the TPM and not considered part of the tire like with non TPM bikes.
