I don't know if this is the best place to post these. If there is a more appropriate thread, please move it there.

There was some interest in the camping water heater I built.
Here is the unit packed for transport. The pot is made out of 1/32 stainless sheet so it's not too heavy.
It's about 18" tall and 15" in diameter.

As you can see it was rolled and welded. No access to a TIG back then, so it was all stick welding.
The legs are pipe with a washer on one end and a bolt at the other. The tubing is 5/8 O.D.
They are stored in a bag inside the pot.

The legs screw into nuts welded on the bottom of the pot.

    With the legs installed.

The tubing connects to the bottom and side of the pot.

Flip it over, place it on the edge of the fire and fill with water.

The water flows down the tubing on the right, the side away from the fire. There is a ball valve for a tap here also.
The water is heated in the vertical section of tubing on the left, and the whole pot gets circulated and heated.
I've changed the tubing configuration a few times, and this gives me the best circulation so it doesn't flash into steam. I was just trying to make it quieter , but I think this makes it more efficient also.

Sorry for the lengthy post. To keep it on topic, here is another of my favorite camping spots. Sleds are the transportation of choice but a few guys have put track kits on their bikes and been up here. The snow is 25' deep around the cabin.

Peaceful sunset on a lonesome ranch road in central Oregon. Nothing left to do but listen to the evening singsong of the birdies and kill that flask of Sazerac.
