The Quantel Norton Cosworth at the BOTT race in Daytona '80 or '81.Roger Marshall up, I think this is the year they won the race.
In this form the bike had no frame, much like the Ducati Panigale. The steering head attached to an aluminum structure that bolted to the head. The swingarm pivoted on plates from the rear of the motor/trans package.The monoshock attached to the rear of the head . That was about it.

I was wondering when one of these would make into this thread. The P11 is one of my favorite bikes. My dad had one of the first ones, literaly he had one of the first 10 made, and used to scare the pants off me when he would take me for a ride on the back. I loved every minute of it. One of the hot mods that the desert guys used to do was to lenghthen the rear swing arm by and inch. when my dad rode the prototype that was the only change that they sugested but it didn't make it into the production bike.

That's one hell of an exhaust back there on the left.

Those got their name from the track itself due to noise restrictions there back in the day and are known as Brooklands silencers. The track itself is almost entirely gone but there is an excellent museum with aircraft, race cars, motorcycles, etc...located in the London suburbs
