It is over weight, under powered and poorly suspended. But it puts a big smile on my face every time I swing a leg over it. Even just looking at it gives me a good feeling. I think I'll go out for a ride now...
I'll agree with everything but underpowered. Nearly sold mine a couple months ago for more than I paid for it in 2010 but after a 50 mile ride I decided to keep it. Its not the fastest, Best handling or most practical bike I have owned but its the most fun.
Thanks for the info, maybe I read something wrong. I'll dig out my manual at some point in time, but down to regular for the Scrambler!
Its probably been discussed ad nauseum but can anyone advise me on a suspension upgrade under $500.00. I would like to add some height too. Can you do that with rear suspension (longer, or bolt on risers) without modifying anything else? Any advise would be appreciated.
For the front, try this: http://www.triumphrat.net/twins-technical-talk/102176-scrambler-forks-too-hard.html The best $10 upgrade I've done on a motorcycle... even better with some pre-load adjuster. (mine were for a Yamaha XVS650 1997-2000)
I'd like to know too, if you happen to be inclined to give or link to som instruction on how to do it...
Hey there. Nah. Easy piezy. Here is a video of how to. btw. He has a monotone and a bit of a rant , but its all here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PkvHFbZd00 Im going to do mine very soon. I managed to buy 7.5W.
Hey sillymike, In your pic there I'm seeing basic (homemade?) bar risers, barkbuster type handguards and preload adjusters, which by the way look pretty swish in black. It all seems so familiar. Are you one of the rare posters that rides his scrambler off-road on the odd occasion? I mean no offense to some inmates here, but I'm kinda tired of seeing garage princesses and stuff with leather handgrips on the ADV forum. I wish Rhodies pics from the dawn of this thread were still online. They are what made me buy a scrambler. Sillymike, I Would love to see your bike and some of your mods in all their glory. Show me yours and... I will be sure to disappoint

I need another bike for that! And I can continue to be a hipster wannabe on my Scram!
My 2014 Scrambler. So far it has the Arrow 2 in 1 exhaust, Renthal street fighter bars with oury grips, joker machine sprocket cover. For now... I have plans for it this winter though as long as the overtime keeps flowing at work! Ohlins suspension is on the want list as well as the knobbies for tires! Been looking at the BC slammer seat too. Then maybe I'll focus on brakes. I really like the more "off road" looking scrams. AI blocking kit from BC customs is now on the way to me as well as well as a bracket to relocate the key switch. I have had the bike for almost a month and have not driven a car to work since, its getting a bit chilly in CT though so some cold weather gear is in order. My previous bike was an 08 KTM superduke so I'm used to a little more power but the scrambler is still fun for me. I do find myself looking for the 6th gear when I'm on the highway though. I try to avoid highways on the scrambler anyway! If any of this post makes no sense blame it on the lack of sleep from third
2014 Scrambler. So far it has the Arrow 2 in 1 exhaust, Congrats on bike. Love the Pacific Blue. I had my Arrow put on at dealership as well. Hands down, makes the bike. For now... I have plans for it this winter though as long as the overtime keeps flowing at work! Ohlins suspension is on the want list as well as the knobbies for tires! I'm upgrading suspension too (Got a year in, I'm due) Currently stock, is brutally bad. Excellent advice on here.I'm a noob. I have had the bike for almost a month and have not driven a car to work since Hilarious, I get it. Bought mine in Oct. rode it in sub-freezing weather like an idiot. April, it had 800 kms it now has 8000 on it, without so much as a day trip. That is strictly just using instead of car.
Have either of you noticed a change in gas mileage re the Arrow? What kind of mileage do you get? I ask, because I read of Scrambler owners getting nearly 50 miles per gallon. I've got an Arrow 2 into 1 installed at the dealer complete with remap. I'm getting around 36 to 38 miles per gallon.
