I am new to doing this but i have been reading about guys doing it every morning when i wake up and drink cofee. I ride singletrack on late model weopenry alot cause it is out my back door literely. I perchased a xr600 5 years ago with no use from a friend. i have been buying stuff and loading it up etc but i never use it cause i am always riding moto or singletrack. anyway today is the day to use it and i am excited. it is a last minute run but thats okay cause i have been loading it up for years , i am sure i have more stuff than i need cause its loaded for overniters. but lets test it

Okay I have roughly eight hours to ride before pic its dark. I have been reading Adventure rider for a couple of years and I always admire the stories at cetera. I ride single track out of my backyard on a regular basis. I use 415 in KTM 300. I bought an XR 600 just for dual sport but never used it. I've had it for five years. I keep loading it and buying stuff from reading reports. Laugh out loud. Today's the first ride. Okay which helmet.[IMG]

Guess I'll take the Arai because it's the most comfortable. My stable have bikes in the background. I think the XR will be better then any of these modern dirt bikes would be for dual sport. Let's find out.

Excuse the typos I'm using voice recognition. Use your imagination for the words. The route will be in the desert in area I've never been but I've been looking at on the maps. It's the Mojave preserve over to the New York mountains and out in the open. Nipped in California. I have single track in Nipton and single track in Laughlin. This will be a hundred miles or so connecting the two. I have never been so we'll see how it goes. I have so much gear tools and equipment loaded on this bike over the years I don't even know what I have but I know its more than enough. I'm doing this to see if I want to do more of it.

A riding pal of mine had a XR600,knarley bike, the only thing that would stop it was running outta gas.

35 miles of flowing and sometimes rocky roads and two track. Som sections offered jumps and wheelies.
