This is the official thread for Z-rex owners, both for the zrx1100 and 1200.
I'll start. I have a 99 zrx1100 with muzzy pipes, cams, stage3 kit, fork brace, steel braided brake lines, K&N filters, and some other goodies.
She sounds mean, runs well.
I'll get pictures tomorrow.

So much bang for the buck and can out run many of the Euro bikes that cost three times as much, but that just might be the riders:wink: I might pick up another just for parts since fleabay seems to always have a decent one for under 3K.-100HP and 140+ mph-do the math and smile.:lol3

I want to return the pipe and jetting to stock.
Know anyone that wants to trade their stock pipes and Main Jets, Needles, E-Clips, Shims, Slide Springs for a muzzy system and stage-3 carbs?

Oh man I have lusted after those bikes for some time, especially the green & purple scheme. They really tickle my nineteen-eighty-what? square-headlight bike pr0n button. Post more pics!

:clap

I really wanted one, too. Still do! If they had the red scheme available and on the showroom floor in 2000 and the blue or black a few years ago I would probably have bought one on impulse. I still would rather have one of those 1300-1400cc Honda, Suzuki or Yamaha dual shock naked bikes please!!!

You don't know how long I browsed CL for one of these.
Bastards are hard to come buy. Good sign, since everyone wants to keep theirs. :evil
Admin, I request a Screenname change. Change it to Z-rex_Nick. :deal

I bought an 01 ZRX in 01.

I've ditched the obnoxious radiator brackets, painted the obnoxious bronze engine covers, and added an Ivan's kit. As a matter of personal preference I mounted a round headlamp and the 05 and later polished SS stock pipe.

As a tourer with racks, a muscle bike, a commuter (racks again), or a non-chrome retro cruiser it really can't be beat. Well .... ok ... it can be beat at each individual one of those things, but no machine I've seen can beat it at all of them.

A problem with coverage at Adv of ZRXs is that 0.0002 seconds after you post anything about a ZRX the conversation is truncated with a link to the ZRXOA site.

The ZRXOA site is great, so great in fact that I think it may have a positive impact on the value of these machines. But there is very little about Adventure riding there and I hope this thread and others will run to their natural end.

If anyone wants a stock black header they can have it for the shipping costs (pickup is free). It is used, but has no damage, and it is stainless under the stock (well worn) paint. It may help with the "return it to stock" plans, but I don't want to trade.

I really like the rex and over here we used to be able to get muscle bikes from all four manufacturers.
This baby is mine, it's an XJR 1300 with a few mods like the home-made silencers and polished rims etc.
I love all musclebikes and if this wasn't available it would be a ZRX1200
Some gorgeous bikes on this thread :clap

Muscle bikes are just big engine nakeds, bikes with plenty of low down grunt.

And naked bikes are obviously the sexiest.
Only bad thing is the wind noise gets old on longer trips.
