Well I have no problem with camping in the wild. I'd prefer it actually.

I'd like to be able to arrive in camp early, and BS around a bit the night before.
Where that is doesn't matter much to me.

I can see where it might be tough to find a spot if you don't really know how many there'll be!

I'll put in some bucks if it'll help get us a spot.

You all are getting a sniff of the myriad of details that Ron and I constantly think about and how to solve. Please continue to raise the issues, but don't necessarily look for immediate solutions other than the dates are LOCKED IN. We'll release information as we think is necessary to do so.

Right now, what we really need is a count of who's in. Could you please repost your intent to join us after this message. I'll then post the participants on the first page of this thread. While it's not optimal, we may need to disperse our first night's camping and have a common Saturday morning meeting point.

Also, ALL relevant information needed for the ride will be re-posted on the first page so one doesn't have to wade through this thread (as interesting as it is!).

I updated the blog for Day 4 route - Thanks to 81husky's input:
" Canyon Creek charcoal kilns on day 4? Trapper Cr road out of Melrose takes you to the kilns, and then Quartz Cr road hits 43 just East of Wise river."

2/27 update - add dirt segment from Melrose to Wise River adds 25 miles, more dirt , less pavement, more to see - thanks 81husky. http://goo.gl/maps/wd5XJ 186 mi.

Adds 20 miles to the day over what looks to be an interesting segment.

Been on the fence a little, but I'm gonna join up. Got dates on the calendar and permission from the boss.

I'm planning to make at least part (TBD by weather-dependent summer work).

Could do some pre-riding in the Dillon area this spring if needed.

Been in communications with Ron and based on Tim's post concerning that first night....I went ahead and reserved a campsite at Fish Creek CG in the Park for the first night [7-26]...no big deal, it only cost me $11.50 with Golden Age Pass...soooooo, I can take one more vehicle in my site [max 2] and 7 more persons [in case of wandering gypsies that might need a place to stay]. As this unreels, if needed someone can camp at my site.


Site is C109, non-generator loop on the lake....not certain of quality of site, but all I need is a place to flop
