I'm trying to load all of CNNT09 on my 60csx and when approx 80% loaded I get a "lost communication with device" on the computer screen. I'm loading this on a 2gb micro card. The program prompts me to re- start the device, then the process repeats and I get the same loss of communication error.

    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks
    Glen
P.S. All that will load on the 60csx is the base map

I know nothing about CNNT09 (I'm a foreigner eh) so here goes.

How many map tiles in the mapset? There's a 2025 limit there.

Have you tried loading a smaller set of map data? It is worth experimenting to see if it is a showstopper for all maps, or just something to do with the particular set you are loading. Give it a go and let us know. A bad or corrupt mapset can do strange stuff.

Another method is if you have a card reader for the microSD card, just drag'n'drop the file onto the card then put it back in the GPS.

I also always have strong batteries in mine, even when using the USB port, just to be sure it doesn't run down on power. I just seem to remember reading here somewhere that an inmate fixed a similar issue by having good batteries in his 60 when loading maps, so I do it as a habit.

Thanks for the input Godsilla, I have 56 map sets to load totaling 958.29 mb
Yes there are fresh batteries in unit
I will try loading smaller maps to see if that helps

    Thanks

Have you tried reformatting the SD card?

No, I do not know how.
In the past, all I have done is high lite the maps I want to put in the gps unit, connect the gps to the computer via usb cable, and click the "send to device icon".
This time around this is not working.
My 60csx has the newer v3.9 firmware

It seems from another thread on here that the 3.90 firmware update works best when applied using the webupdater, which is what I used, and I had the first mapset after that successfully load but it was not picked up by the gps, so I had to do it again. 3.90 has given a few here heart palpitations, but it seems to settle down after a couple of goes.
