Tinted OEM screen

Anyone tried it? I have some Instagram buddies that either painted it or decalled it. Curious to see some up-close pics.
I was thinking of placing black matte decal on the inside, that way i can clean the bugs easily.
Pics anyone? This is not my bike, but the screen looks awesome.

I painted the inside of mine flat black with a paint made for plastics. Works great for several years now. Would have liked to try it in plasti-dip but didn't know about it at the time.

Picked up a F658 stocker and flat black painted it on the inside. Effective.

I'm thinking of taking mine to a window tinting place and having them but the darkest tint on the inside.

Actually a couple of things come to mind.
1) spray the inside of the stocker w/ black paint. It should appear glossy due to the reflective-ness of the Plexiglas on the exterior
2) They make a tint spray paint. This stuff can be found in hobby shops and is used in modelling. I'd still spray the inside of the stock screen. I have used this in the past to tint (smoke) clear turn signals. That looked exceptional in quality.

Note: I haven't done either to my windscreen. Yet... But it's in the plan. I'll prob go w/ option 2.

I posted a few pics here (post 120) earlier today. Mine is the factory tinted version. I needed a new screen anyway and the tinted was like $20 more. I love the look.

It looks great! That 's what i'm going for. By smoked, did you mean tinted as in car window tint? Darkest shade? Mabye on the inside? It looks perfect.

I had it sprayed with automotive paint. They thinned out the paint to make it look like a smoked lens. Then they put a heavy duty clear coat. It looks factory and cost me $50

I got VHF spray plastic tint for tail lights and sprayed the inside of my Givi 333 and it is perfect.

I spray painted mine with a flat black plastic paint on the inside of the shield. The flat black is perfect so there is no instrument cluster glare and it looks shiny on the outside.

This did not work out so well for me. I used the VHT lens tint and it looks terrible. Like it has a spider web of cracks all through it. Now I gotta figure out how to clean this crap off or buy a new winshield.

Paint thinner should do the trick. The shield should be washed with soap and water before painting to get rid of any grease. I wet sanded mine down also before painting.

Let us know how that works out. I went looking for a can of VHT.

No need for a new shield. This also happened when i tried to paint only the inside. I took it later to a paint shop, and they used plastic primer and matte paint inside and out. Came out looking very nice. And it only costed me around 25 USD.

Btw, the finished texture is similar to the one covering the air intakes. I know it's not the same material, but it feels the same.

Here is mine with a Touratech spoiler on top. It is tinted with Charcoal colored Automotive "Clear Bra".

That looks great. I think I'll try the clear bra or spray tint approach.

BTW, how do you like that spoiler? Making a big difference at highway speed? If so, how tall are you? I've got a larger touring windscreen on the beast right now which is great in getting me to the trails, but not so good once there.
