Ash on Bikes RIP (Kevin Ash Memorial Thread)

Ride in paradise Kev! Such a great voice in our culture. I consulted his writings before every bike purchase, and considered his opinions to be amongst the best and most accurate on new machines. Cheers Mate.

The banner on his website has been replaced by this message from his daughter.

I just found out who he was, RIP and Godspeed.

So sad. He was an excellent writer. Sounds like he was a terrific fellow. RIP.

I never took a review seriously until I saw the bike on his blog.

There was some discussion in the Oilhead forum. This is sad, sad day. As an American, I read very little from the UK, with exception of the occasional BBC news story, Top Gear, and Kevin Ash's reviews.

To be honest (and I hope this doesn't make me a bad person), I am interested in how it happened.

Personally I don't think it makes you a bad person. He was a good accomplished rider, way better than me and possibly others here too. I don't think he'd take any unusual or extreme risks, too professional and experienced, I am also interested in how it happened.
