I have been posting alot of pictures of antique motorcycles in my friend Nachtflug's thread and after many months of riding on his generous coat tails I feel the need to strike out on my own. This thread is about antique bikes ONLY. So no pictures of half naked women or rants about islam. You can take that stuff next door. This is about old iron and old iron only. 35 years or older. So let us begin with the mighty Super X circa 1930
God, that's beautiful! Here's the Flying Merkel that sold at Barber's Auction a couple of weeks ago...It was he first of that model built!
could you post a close up of the rear wheel on that super x? i'd like to see more of that speedo setup.
This machine is being built by a friend of mine who is in his early 80's. It is a 1936 Indian Sport Scout with a seventies Kawasaki front end. Normally it wouldn't interest me,but my friend has added a electric starter from a sportster. He is one of the better machinists I have ever known and I have known a few.
I dig the plunger rear suspension. Earl Martz on Ariel 1000 motorcycle. 1946 Pennsylvania license plate. "Dealer" sign attached to front wheel fender. I named my daughter, Ariel.
