Hey guys Im trying to stick to the site rules and post ride reports in the ride reports area, but cos there is so much world wide action on there they get lost in seconds, it would be nice to have a ride reports section for the European Region. Here's a recent ride report, fairly interesting as Robbie C and I found some new tracks in the area, fairly technical, but some real scorchers. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=451278
Maybe we could at least have an index (a sticky) in the EU section that points to the relevant posts in the Ride Reports section?
Most reports get lost, not just ours. I think the latter is the better idea, except someone has to maintain it. Maybe someone start it and then either they get PM'd when folks post a thread or they add a single post in the thread linking to their report, a bit like EU for sale. Overseas folks like reading our reports, and its nice to get out and about in ride reports to see the wider world. We shouldnt be posting them here, theres also a lot posted there I think from folks who don't frequent Europe, so posting outside Europe is good, maybe we should link back to this section to promote it.
As I always gets intoxicated by the prospect of power, I propose myself as moderator of the European Ride Report Index. I'll try to establish it in Ride Reports proper. It might get booted from there onto here. But I'll try. Send me PM with reports worth listing in the index. I'll ruthlessly ignore all reports that doesn't include stunning images, that aren't well written (as determined by a Norwegian with Italian accent), that doesn't "contribute" (a RR needs to be detailed - it is no use in a description of a hotel if you can't find it because there is no address!), and that I don't like for any other reason. Here I am, so there you are. Send me a PM with your favorite report. Do it NOW, please. I'm off to RR and try to establish a foothold there. [TaSK]
Good man! I found your GSpot stuff very useful. I think the Index needs a mirror in this forum though, do you think? Don't forget thought the UK offroad RR's are ofthen a little different in style.
As I said: Ruthless If it doesn't get kicked out of RR, we'll try to get a sticky here pointing to it. [TaSK]
Oh i, he offers out champers after Ive done it, and all I got was a well done and the pleasure of dragging his damned bike out of the bog - no fair! Ah well I'll just have to get out there practicing so I can win the bottle of bubbly!
