    Hey guys,

I did a quick search and didnt find much so I thought I would just ask.
Well lets start with a funny story.
I was removing my oil filter with an oil filter wrench and had no idea the little box on the engine beside it was made out of the same material as a beer can. I tore through the heat exchanger and coolant is dripping out. Nice $250 mistake.
I have ordered the parts but need to know how to drain the coolant.
Any help you have would be great.

    Thanks.

Um...those directions look like they are for another bike...

But, you're in luck, because another idiot on here did the same thing and did up some instructions on how to do this job...be right back with a link...

I appreciate your help but you're wrong.
The post you added and instructions is to bleed off the air in the coolant system, nothing about draining it.

Yes the bikes are different but the engines are the same.

You're going to need the instructions I posted once you've drained the coolant and refilled. i forgot to get you the posts for draining. I did the same thing as you with my oil filter wrench and went through the same exercise two years ago. If my memory serves me right, I removed the lower pipe next to the heat exchanger and it all came out there. The hardest part was bleeding all of the air from the system when I filled it back up. Joel's instructions are spot on.
