Givi luggage racks and cheap plastic ammo boxes from Amazon. Top case is a Pelican 1520 with a Touratech rack under it.
When I watched the Icon video, I really wondered how someone gets that good on a bike? Especially so young? I can only imagine killing myself in the process long before I ever got to where they are at:huh
Didn't you realise that in BMWs corporate belief they invented absolutely everything. Telelever? Have a look at the 1930s Rudge. Duolever? Hossack. And on and on it goes. One thing you can credit BMW for is they do have the courage to put these things into production.
Yeah, I was pretty envious, too. I guess, if you have no regard for your equipment (like a stunta'), you continually keep trying stuff and finding what you can get away with or better at.
For those who haven't seen a Scrambler get thoroughly ridden: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyJZQIViejQ&feature=player_profilepage#!
A lot of it is drifting. You will notice they almost steer exclusively with the rear wheel. Plus they make several runs through the same paths that you see before it gets the final cut. My sons started riding at age 6 in MX. They are 17 & 14 now and can right the crap out of anything put in front of them. The key is start at an early age.
Anyone put Tucano Urbano 319 Muffs on their Tiger yet? If so any thoughts, tips/tricks on fitting. Any photos?
As said, start young and stay in shape. At 57 and 185lbs my DR wears me out playing on the trails, now just imagine another 100lbs added to toss around. I'm not dissing the Tiger, just a bit more adventure than I'd take it on in Icon's excellent video. I have test rode both versions and the XC with a 19" front would be close to my ideal of an all roads bike.
Here...embedded for ya... It's worth a watch. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/CyJZQIViejQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Even with no regard for the bike, I couldn't do that in my best days, which, btw, are long since gone Maybe if I got an outfit, I could do it?
They could really increase their market acceptance by eliminating the "sponsor" logos and doing an "adult" color option. I guess, that's why Parts Unlimited has the Moose line.
The ads mention the Dakar dream and so forth. Us old guys could do without the sponsor stuff but I think they are trying to get the younger crowd interested in adventure riding. They do well with the gixxer crowd, stunters and such. They certainly are making a stab at adventure riders.
