I am heading down on Thursday after work. HalfPlate and I are "Camping" at the Holiday Inn Express near the PC (performance center) so that I can get up early, take a relaxing HOT shower, get the yummy FREE breakfast and head over to the BMW museum to snap a few dozen pictures!

I removed the Aeroflow, dusted the cobwebs off my MX boots, spooned on a fresh set of TKC's last night and I am now ready to have some serious FUN and put those RawHyde and CornerSpin skills to good use! :ricky

I'm coming up from Atlanta on Friday morning, but since I'm doing this event on a 20 year old bike  I need to go over to Airheads in the "Old's Cool Forum"

Congrat's to the Moab 3! Jason was one of my coaches, and we got to ride with them last year (well, watch them ride) at Moab. Crazy good riders.

And a shout out to the men and woman at the Performance Center still competing for their spots on Team USA. One more long day down there...

Anthony was the red stitch. That is awesome! Don was Amazing! Carlo, you were more than a top rider, you were a friend to all. Anthony, you were the sleeper Steady, consisten and unflappable.

Mohican, thanks for your help today. may you have a dry return to Vermont on both the outside and inside of your bike!!!!
BTW, my future daughter in law was at dinner with me tonight and she knows some one from Vermont that is an Indian re-enactment participant too. Bet you know him, I will get his name from her.

Brian, enjoyed the company and would enjoy a future fireside conversation with a cigar and a cold one. Your an interesting guy and I still have some questions for you.

To all the rest of the great folks I met at the Performance center (you guys that put this thing on were great. I still owe you for two rails from the split rail fence I broke with my ribs). To my fellow competitors, I really enjoyed your company and was impressed by your passion for riding these bikes. See you in two years.

Okay boys and girls we have the results from the 2012 GS Trophy East Coast Qualifier!!!! Dan came in first!! What a rider, leagues ahead of everyone else. Carlo grabbed 2nd!! After spending an entire year two up to Patagonia on that same F800. I was blessed with an unexpected finish of 3rd overall.

As a 3rd place finalist I am now in the running for the finals in South America, but the competition isn't over yet. We need everyone to go to the BMW Motard US Facebook page and vote for the finalist you like the most to go on. There are 6 riders in the running for the USA and this voting will narrow it down to the 3 that go to the Trophy Challenge and represent the USA. I really cannot believe I finished this well and would be honored to represent the USA, the ADV community, and BMW in South America.

Be on the look out for a thread with pictures and videos!!

    Thanks to everyone for voting,
    Andrew Lacy

Me taking on the famous sand pit at the performance center. Check out that trails stop at the end of the run, those GS's are balanced!

Halfplate! Well deserved! You earned that spot, and you were having fun doing it. Good luck in the final bake off. I hope all three of you east coast guys get to go as you all were impressive.

Jason and Ryan have ice running through their veins. Ryan and Jason are incredible riders plain and simple. I don't know anyone who promotes GS riding by organizing group rides, giving great riding tips to riders, and just being available to riders for help or questions as them (and of course, Mick). I am so happy for both of them. Now onto the voting. Hope they make it to S. America.

Andrew, Carlos, and Dan. Each one calm, collected, & talented. (cel phone pic here), That's Mike in the background. He came in on a modified HPN as an official.
