Just put a small kicker for the bigger one. On the rev 3`s I would hit the exhaust (front pipe) on the taller ups. So I would just use a kicker. I wanted time on the bike in the yard, not break parts! Oh yeah, put some riding pants on! My balls would shrink riding around in my skivvies too.
I was reading Lineaway's post, thinking "hitting the exahust pipe" up big walls then figured he must been riding a YZ with a swept pipe or something else 'classic' up them? maybe you need a gasgas, so you can get up there without hitting the pipes? lol
Yeah, when I built my `large` wall it became undercut enough that a splatter was best. And just for you Sting, the gasser cleared the pipe no problem! After I hit the Beta pipe twice real hard, I put in the kicker!

Thanks but I think I`ll be saving up for a new Montesa. The 4rt was too heavy for stop and hop, but with the rule change next year it will be the bike to have!
You know the Two Second Pause rule. That way those heavy four strokes and twin shock anchors can be competitive again.
You know, the one in October. For the record there was no two second rule! But I was not at the Saturday meeting( I was at Fridays and Sundays) I only let one long dab slide that should have been a five. I thought for sure he was crashing hard and was generous.
Uh Mr. Lineaway. There is this nasty heal up thing first. Just saying. No more 45 second pause, catch your breath and hang out "one" dab anymore?
Floodplain of a creek, overgrown with blackberries when I bought the house, now trials central.... This move sent me to urgent care last year for 5 stiches to the elbow. Had to sacrifice a tree to get access to this rock.
For those with a backyard lay out, do you ever trailer your bikes to other riding area? I starting clearing out a section of my back yard about 6 months ago, and placing some logs and rocks around, and now find myself only riding at home. I know for sure I am able to log more trial riding hours having my own little section.
My backyard pics are a few pages back. One of the main reasons that I bought a trials bike was to take advantage of riding at home. I had grown tired of driving 2 - 5 hours each way to ride my dirt bike. I went to an event "just to check it out" and have been competing regularly since (into my 3rd year now). Most of my "non competition" riding is at home, but I do go to a couple of local(ish) spots from time to time so that I can ride with other riders. Having riding at home has increased the amount of riding I do significantly. I used to ride my dirt bike less (some years MUCH less) than ten times per year and I ride almost weekly now.

Well yeah. The goal is to ride every day, but any place gets stale. I go once a week an hour to a spot , and once a month somewhere between 100 and 1000 miles to ride with others of like mind. We're waiting for rain to wet down our homeland, so I'm riding at home this morning and this month.
That is the beauty of "home/backyard setups" and yeah you get spoiled, BORED of same old same ol', then eventually drive 600 miles to a fun place like Sipapu NM, and ride with some of the neatest friends I have ever met, online or offline lol. But what I love is, gas the damn thing up, even when you just have 5 minutes before dinner, I ride. or whatever, which is priceless.
