I think at least you should get a OEM pinion (drive sprocket) in order to protect your output shaft...

I always get the original OEM kit including drive and driven sprockes and chain... but that's just me.

I will get both front and rear sprocket and a chain. More kind of wondering what type of chain and any particular brand I should get/not get.

I meant to say, I get the original Honda OEM chain and sprockets kit. I think the chain is made by DID

My latest chain is the following RK 525 XSO...very impressed. Drove it 10 k kms before I adjusted it. The gold chain looks good too. Obviously you want 124 links but they can be hard to source sometimes. Or go with the 130 links and shorten it. Whatever you decide I would recommend you make it a continuous chain by riveting it together as opposed to a master link and clip.
Installing the continous chain you can first do the riveting on the bench (or get a shop to do it if you don't have the tooling) and then install through the opening of the swingarm which you have to partially remove. Easy peazy.

I'd say top one's a lake with water (probably the best thing ever in the outback)
Bottom one's a shearing shed.....where Aussies do things to sheep :D
