Hey Tabor , I forgot to send a link to the Asheville-WNC Adventure Rider thread. Post up there for a Sunday ride, still lots of nice weather for it. How late do you work on Wednesdays? Shane
"Happiness is not a destination. It is a method of life." Burton Hills What a day!!! I choose the perfect day to play hookie from work It can not get better: 9am in the driveway tiny bit of gravel I-26 over Big Laurel On Big Laurel checked out this one road.... well, I kinda knew it will end somehow shoot! dead end roads can be fun anyway! Cutshall Town Rd :huh spendy place on 212, but once in a while I get a little "treat" for me bikes... Franklin Mountain somewhere in TN my first destination: East TN tag this place swarmed with grasshoppers and I ended up with burrs in my hair - not fun getting them out with slightly "longish" hair... heading back down... great fun road
I know you needed some 'me time' inside your helmet, glad you got it (at least a little bit of it). Gotta get me some too.
work? :huh afraid so... (I am at work right now ) yesterday was considered a "mental health day" (and reduce comp time) here are rest of the pics: Viking Mt. (below the tower) Lone Pine Gap - above Paint Creek Brush Creek Road some failed attempt of a self-timer shot (no fished were harmed at the slip ) on <s>Fubar</s> Fugate road to get over the river no pics from NC209 - that's way too much fun to mess around with the camera short stop at _anatic's to drop of some stickers (which turns out I left at home ) can't wait to move in on Hwy63 - if you look closely you see AVL way back there.... and the Wedge (my next destination) well, just after I took the pic the bike decided to take a nap - and I was not even near it :huh turns out, it came in pretty handy that my cable broke the last time I was out: it's much easier to pull a freshly lubed/new clutch cable with one finger so, 200 miles, a clutch lever, couple of Pils at the Wedge, ... live is good
So it's not enough that Shane lives on/near the roads he does, he gets a room with a view besides. Nice.
SSSHHHhhhhhhh you. The next thing you know, some idiot will give it a clever name and start selling tee-shirts.
I have ridden all those roads several times, I showed it to some NC riders, along with Lonesome mountain, they still can't believe a yankee has showed them several good roads that are in their back yard. They nicknamed that stretch 'Richards ridge" Did they pave the pull off in the carousel turn on BL, to keep it free of gravel?
Bingo! are you back up in the hills already??? nope; and the only part with new black-top is between the curch (Walnut Creek intersection) and Chapel Hill
You wouldn't have liked it out there. All the fair weather riders were out all day. Looked like a pirate convention. Nice ride Cuttle
