Will have plenty of pictures next week after the Desert Challenge. Any special requests? Coma etc? bike pics etc. I will pass the request on to my fiance, photographer in developement. I will do a report depending on how the rally goes for me. Hopefully better than the Safari, 300 km on first day and a DNF.
I would love to se photos of different amateur rallybikes. How they are set up ect. Especially the honda xr 650r have my interest... but all bikes would be cool I hope you have a nice race...good luck
Pierrick Bonnet : « My sixth Dakar: more suffering than the five others combined ». Atar. "For Pierrick Bonnet, the Dakar began one night in January 2000, in front of the television. Watching the resume of the 22nd Dakar, he saw a few familiar faces in the background, some old friends from the days when he competed in motocross. Then it dawned on him: If they are doing it, why not me? From that moment he had just one thing in mind, be on the starting line the following year. Pierrick Bonnet made it to the finish without a worry. Even better, he was the highest finishing first time participant. Ever since the idea of not taking part in, the biggest race of them all, has never been an issue, but now hell ride alone and without assistance. The results give him reason because he rallied to make it to the end in both 2002 and 2003. The following years, things didnt go quite as well: a broken clutch bell housing in 2004 and gearbox problems in 2005. Twice he has been forced to retire, which is a difficult pill to swallow for this natural born competitor. In 2006, despite promising his youngest child that it would be his last, this father of four set off, once again, on his personal adventure. After a heavy crash on stage five, he experienced a hellish Dakar; while never thinking for a moment of quitting This year obviously, hes back." Dakar.com Stage14.
