    One thing I've done that I find invaluable is get a foam core project board and draw outlines of all the major parts removed. Use a nail or something similar to poke holes where mounting bolts go. It's an easy way to make sure you don't lose fasteners while your bike is in pieces. If you arrange the drawings in order, you'll know what order the parts go back on (remove glove box before tanks, etc). The board is also a handy place to write valve clearance specs and other important data (tire pressure, torques, etc.)

    Yep, my original pump shaft lasted me about 60 000 km....but gave up the ghost miles form home and was a PITA to replace on the road.

    I could probably push the new viton ones and hardened shafts out even more....but for a few $$$ and really not much more extra work, I reckon its cheap insurance to just do it when you do the coolant. Just my 2c :norton

    Hey all ,
    Finally was able to start in on my FIRST valve check today and was a little concerned when I open the air box to this

    Is this a common state . I have been a little concerned with oil consumption . She is at about 12,500 miles . I have noticed a slight miss now and then in the left pipe which is the rear cyl......
