I'd like to ship my bike from the Washington, DC area to San Francisco, CA area.
Anyone know of reliable and inexpensive shippers?

Last time I compared prices (a while ago) ForwardAir was cheaper than the overland haulers if you can deal with the delivery to the airport. They were highly recommended by friends.

You can get motorcycles shipped by Atlas Van Lines. They do door to door.

As far as I know even though the name is ForwardAir, this is a ground transportation company, and does not go to airports. They have warehouse locations in many cities across the country, and price wise I have not seen anyone even close.
They even provide the crate, which seems easy to load your bike into.
