Yes it's another seat thread but here goes: I have a corbin low seat for my 1150 adventure. It's heated, heavy and not comfortable after 250+ miles. Is the BMW low seat for the adventure any better? Is it lower than the corbin? I don't want to spend $350 to answer these questions so any insight is appreciated.

Hi, I bought my 06 GS1200, with the BMW low seat. Don't bother it's like sitting on a plank of wood, honestly a waste of money.
I tried a Corbin, but It was like sitting on a horse ie. wide at the front and effectivley, did nothing for the feet down situation, if thats your problem. Eventually bought a Kahedo extra low and I'm very happy with it. Don't know if they do one for the 1150 thou. There are a lot of threads on seats, so have search.

    Regards Steve

And don't bother with Corbin either.

For less money you can have a seat custom built to your needs by either Rich's Customs, Rick, or Bill / Rocky Mayer.

Sargent also make an off the shelf seat that is very comfortable.
Had mine built by Renezco racing, great all day comfort now!

I have had all 3 BMW GS seats (low, GS, and ADV) on mine. The low was pretty uncomfortable. I use the GS and it does okay. I would like to get a sergeant in the future, I hear they are more comfy than corbins.

I have a low BMW seat on mine and I think it is great. It works well for me and my longest riding day so far has been 1400km.

Oh what the hell, here goes: I have a Russell 'Sport' which is lower than their 'Day Long'. It doesn't have the springs in the wings (outer edge of seat) so it may not be a perfect 10 in comfort, but it is awfuly close. And less expensive than a Day Long.

    One word: Sargent.

I disagree with the guy who said that the BMW low seat is like sitting on a 2X4. It is actually like sitting on a 2X4 that has a set of vice grips attatched to your testicles in the closed position. Naked.

I tried a Corbin for the GS and found the same as described....too tall and wide in ways that made it tough to get your feet to the ground unless you have really long legs, or are built like an alien, with your hip sockets located on the sides. Even though it was a low version, it actually made the reach to the ground MUCH tougher.

I prefer firm seats over soft ones, by a mile. I find the Sargent seats to be just the right amount of firmness without being plank hard, which is what some say about the Corbins. For reference, I have liked hard Corbins on other bikes.

Hope that helps. Get out your checkbook.

I just bought an 04 GSA and it came with a low seat in addition to the stocker. The seat is black and looks to be new. First $200 takes it.

    PM me if your interested.

I took one long trip with the stock GS seat and my inner thighs and tail were ruined. I bought a sargent and there is so much difference I would have paid double the money for it. Plus you get the tricolors---a true BMW style seat! Guess what the same sargent I bought for my 05 GS fits my new 08 GSADV. Nice perk. sold the old bike with the old seat and just popped the new one on the ADV and giddyup
