Short getaway in Moab Utah. Weather didn’t cooperate as we were hoping, but it was still lots of fun. After our arrival to Moab, Friday night we went for a warm up run to Slick Rock. It was there I lost my left foot peg, Matt lost his tail light and Schylar drained his battery. Not as bad as it could have been. Next day we were supposed to meet the other riders at Moab diner for breakfast and then go ride White Rim trail. It has been raining for the last two days<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Little rain was not going to stop us, so we decided to go give it a try. We took Potash road and then left on WRT

Here some people got stuck before they could reach their camp site, so they camped right next to the road and had free entertainment watching others making it up Murphy’s Hogbacks

Fantastic pics and report!! This has to be the first wet Moab ride report I've seen in years!! Pics of those rides are always sunny and dry... Looks like you had a great time regardless of the weather. Thanks for posting! :thumb

I don't care to ride in the rain but the cloud formations on the cliff and mountains can make for really beautiful pictures. I knew as soon as I saw the roads you were going to have trouble with mud on the GS and Tigers. Thanks for sharing the awesome pictures and the ride.

    Wot he said.

You guys have big gonads tackling that route in those conditions, and with big dualsports. Nice pics.

mefos or irc gp-1 (not gp-110) would be my choice. whiterim is long and so you must move along at a good clip. you'll be standing on your pegs alot. ditch to rubber stock one, if you still use. progressive springs will help the front suspension.

Yep, there is a lesson in all this: When it be raining on da man, ride da WRT counterclockwise.

Why? Because that last slimy, bentonite covered hill you guys had such fun with -it's called Hardsrabble Hill- can actually get impassible when wet enough. So, unless you want to make it through about 80 miles of the trail just to find that you have to turn around and go back the way you came (and you probably don't have the fuel or the daylight for that, no?) it's a good idea to do it counterclockwise.

I don't have to worry about it cause the sun alway shines on me -I'll be on the WRT next weekend.:evil

    Very nice report.

k270s should be ok there, unless it's muddy. Then you'll want D606s.

Looks like fun. "Anyone can see it in the sunshine, very few see it in the rain", the old man told me as we watched it storm. A whole new world in the rain!

That red clay is so slick when wet, glad you all made it without any big mishaps. I have been caught out in the red clay when it rains and it can be a mess, especially on the bigger bikes.
