OK, so here we go... I bought everything below from my local True Value Hardware yesterday..

    What you need:

6 1/2" of 1/16" galv wire (times two)
One - 22-18 AWG butt splice connector (electrical isle)
Two - 16-14 AWG Ring terminals (electrical isle)
    One - 8d 2 1/2" nail
Two - "1040/A" screws (didn't get the measurements, sorry)
    One - 1/16" drill bit
    One - 7/64" drill bit

    The steps:

    Start with this
    [IMG]

Pull the tacky blue plastic off of the ring connector
    [IMG]

Crimp it onto the six inch length of galv 1/16" wire (times two wires)

Remove the float bowls, drain. Look here, see the cap? That's gotta come out (and go back in)

Drill a hole on the outside of the float bowl, on the side that has that cap.. I drilled a pilot hole with a 1/16th bit and followed with a 7/32nd

Drop in a 8d by 2 1/2 inch nail and tap out that cap from the previous pix..

Find and save that cap, see it here?

now cut the butt connector in half..

feed the cable thru the hole and crimp on half of that butt connector you just cut..

    See?

    replace that cap you saved...

Take this back over to your bike, and use a True Value self-tapping screw (store number 1040/A) to secure the loop end of the cable to the carb, using the existing hole... use some blue locktite.

When done, it may look like this!

When these bikes are used as they are meant to be used, it is a possibility to catch the lever that holds the float bowl on, thus freeing the float bowl from the carb.

So...they dont fall off without it, but they do get lost without it!

    You rock, Solo. Great explanation:clap

I'll PM you my addy in case you dont have it.

Damn. A music quote and i don't have a clue. I could google, but that's cheating. If I had to guess, it would be Jimmy Buffett. ??? He's always singing about the beach.... other people that sing about the beach really annoy me (elvis, beach boys :puke2 etc)

    Sorry man. FAIL.
