This bike was offered to me and I have no idea what its worth.. (I dont own it yet) Its not something I would keep. So Im trying to find it a good home. Looking for some ball park figures / information.
Looks like it will clean up nice. In good running condition it would go for around 4k here in California.
I'll agree with the above value. pretty nice looking bike, those DB bags are huge, wish I had a pair when I had my goose. you might want to clean it up, get it running and ride it a little before you decide to sell it, they are really quite fun to tool around on, and handle very well, you might be pleasantly surprised!
The bike is part of an estate and the family has no interest. Im in touch with the guy who is cleaning out the un-wanted items. Im a dirt bike guy at heart but it would be cool to ride for a bit. Im gonna see if he'll let me take over to my shop and get it running.
Please be careful on the get it running thing. Those old chrome bores could be flaking and you'd end up with a completely trashed engine. Either use a bore scope or pop the heads and inspect thoroughly. No oil filters on these old gals so flaking chrome will find its way into and through the oil pump then you'll have a beautiful old paper weight.
Ok good advice. Thanks. I read that in another thread about the flaking chrome. I have a bore scope, Ill check it first. Did I read there is an external marking or name on the cylinder that tells too? (Chrome vs Steel liner)
no, but if they were ever changed out for Gilardoni's there would be the name stamped somewheres I believe. Otherwise you have to rely on the magnet test and/or visual inspection. Beautiful old loop. You're a lucky guy. Would be crying shame to unload that bike.
I use to have a bike almost like that. Same year and model but it was a NY cop bike. Mine was a runner.
Looks like a disk brake Cali/LAPD. If it is a '74 it should be a disk. This is probably the most desireable of all Guzzi Loop Frames. In decent shape, it is worth at least $4000. Some have sold for way more than that.
The bike has been liberated from its resting place. I have a few locals who are interested. Hopefully its on it way to a new happy home.
Early 74's had a drum on the front. I have one.In parts. With a blown motor. Hope it goes to a good home.
