I've done Barlow rd likely 5 times this year.
I'd totally do it again, but not tomorrow......

No on-site camping this year? I might join for campnight. But not ready for ride-day, yet

Ya, How long is the projected lay off (leg off) AJ? Did you check insurance yet for your self mangled motorcycle? Or are you blaming it on the vehicle you decided to merge with?

Here is a little ride report on what I found on my ride today. The bridge just east of devils half acre that was caving in has been removed and is being replaced with a new one. Four logs that make up the main bridge supports are in place and about 2/3 of the new decking is on. This construction has the road totally closed to all traffic. No get around on this one the way it looked today. The road is also blocked about one mile east of NF43 by a blowdowm
that is lying right across the road with no easy get around. Bring your chain saw or shovel if you want to go east of NF43 unless you pick up your 300 pound bike two feet off the ground.

    Good to know.

They need a hefty new bridge...to get all those cars & campervans we often encounter through there! :cromag

So where did you ride then?

AJ, what road is Suicide Grade off of? Is it Mill Creek? dvwalker and I rode from his property in Mosier ...made it to NF 17 at Brooks Meadow Rd; then made our way NE to Skyline Rd to the Dalles, for gas and food. We took Chenoweth back to Mosier ... but were wondering where Suicide Grade was.

The hills around us were white yesterday morning,
but we just got rain at 1400ft.

I've been off mine since the first week.
I'm pretty sure my new shoulder muscle soreness was caused by those pogo stick crutches.

Suicide is off of Mil Creek, 1/8 mile past the end of it's pavement.
Sounds like you and DV rode Ketchum & John's Mill Rd, on your way over to 17?
....if so, you were looking down into the Mill Creek valley for 15 miles or so.
Rehab is certainly going quite well.
I predict a quick full recovery.
The nursing staff was nice, but not that nice....:evil

With all the Bumping and talk of different Counts going on in other parts of the PNW I hated to see the Hood get lost three pages back... Is anyone riding over there? :huh

Any updates on the healing process of you or your bike? :lurk

Here's Jeff's photo from the day the stitches came out. I wanted to post up a pic of the "original," but Jeff wouldn't let me. The knee looks waaaaay better now. :clap Bike still hasn't been touched, other than everything he took apart to figure out all the parts that he needed. Took a ride by myself a couple of weeks ago up past Red Menace's place, but nothing since. Rain, cold, bleh! Fair weather rider here!
