Kini: "We will compete next year not only with a KTM factory team, but also with a Husqvarna factory team..."

So if I read that correctly, KTM is feeling a little pressure from HRC and this may have impacted on the decision to run KTM and Huskie next teams year? :eek1

What Kini is saying, he speak of Honda, of cliché, ..give ups,..operating,... and amaturehastily on the way.

    KTM
big plus is the experience, by the bike, team and rider.

This combination is with much much much money, not beatable, although Honda is upfront, we have seen that.

But Marc Coma with team where very far away in front...........very far away

    because

Marc Coma is the leader of the.... and the.... look only at him

Marc where more more as 50 % in front of the rallye

Marc raced also that tempo as the others although he road in front.

Marc 2-3 hours finished his roadbook and then also an hour with privat mapman in google earth in flyby and viewed the whole stage .

Marc is not the fastest in field, 5 -6 are faster in marked tracks but in open ground he is the best.

Total tactics he is worlds worlds in front of others.

Cars, then he made it without big injuries from motor riding in the cars.

We hope he stayed two more years.
The fastest KTM young ones can learn so much of him and that is necessary

Husqvarna is a concernbrand is also even important as KTM in concern.
More pressure of the outside, with Husqvarna more experience it is logical to set up wider and we must stay shoulder by shoulder, so that others do not creep and take the lead.

Toby price privat 3, surprise, no, he is fast on marked stages no navigation. We saw that in sixdays argentina and in Australia.

Walkner is 100 % in team? Hopefully also like Toby Price.
Walkner duration we know of 3 years if he is a stage winner, Dakar winner with luck or a Marc Coma type.

It's a pretty rough chop of Motorbike category and beautiful vistas of South America. There are no interviews or other categories, except a sprinkling of quads. Sound is from original broadcast, so it's a bit jumpy. Sorry about the roughness, but I'm at the mercy of a decrepit computer.

Feel free to re-upload the files somewhere more public like Torrents or YouTube.
Please don't put my link someplace open on the internet with high traffic.
Even better if someone wants to re-mash the videos into a coherent edit.

    Enjoy.

I agree - I think it is the diversity [of terrain and weather] that is so appealing about the South American Dakar, and I always imagined they would want to run it more as a long-distance end to end style cross-continental journey (rather than a series of WRC stages ;o) - and hell, they can always trailer* the bikes the 700kms through Peru right ;o)

I think its just posturing to get Peru into the mix.

Anyway 1 700km liaison would not cross Peru by quite long way... :D

There is plenty of place to legally ride in peru, not all of it has to be HP either.:deal

He did mention wanting to have a crack at it last year on Twitter, but I would have at least expected him to have a crack on 2 wheels first, but this looks like a serious effort and with a bit of Red Bull backing also - either that or he just likes to drink it :D

Good to see Knighter get some breaks after his daunting lack of sponsorship so I'm pulling back announcement earlier this year. It would have been nice to see him on a bike though at his age, I'm wondering if he's getting a little long in the tooth to just begin a Dakar career and be competitive.

    :dunno

Odd how no one seems to mention KTM's most promising and experienced young lad Sam. Maybe everyone is just on a Toby bandwagon due to his result (awesome result).

    Knighter in a car? Wtf

Re badged ktm's as a sub team with blue rims...the "B" team?
