What was also suggested (but I have yet to check it out is) Paul Scheer's Podcast “How Did This Get Made?” which goes through movies like these

    The other night I watched.....

    Silent Running -

It's set in the distant future and all of Earths' forests are put onto spaceships (oh it gets better, just wait) and for no good reason the crew is ordered to jettison all the pods containing the forests and return to Earth.
The main character and head botanist guy; kills everyone, somehow forgets that sunlight helps plants grow, renames the ships' droids Huey and Louie, set up lights in the pods to keep the forests healthy and then jettisons the pods with the droids inside so they will float through space for eternity with the robots tending to them and then blows up the ship instead of, oh doing something useful with either the ship or the plant life.
The entire movie is also punctuated by American Airlines and Coke ads....
It was pretty spectacularly horrible....and I highly recommend it! This is a perfect movie to put on when you have drinking buddies over that love Sci Fi

One of my ALL TIME favorite bad movies is.....

    North Shore -

This movie is a staple for nearly anyone who grew up in California. It's a stupid movie about a kid from Arizona that learns to surf in a pool, and he suddenly moves to Oahu and be a pro surfer. So, naturally he does but not before getting his ass kicked by the locals, meeting a cool local surfer brah and being mentored by Chandler - the surf guru.....oh and scoring a hot local girl. Then, once he has achieved his lifes' goals, he leaves.
The entire film is littered by decent and horrible acting, notably from surf legends Laird Hamoltin and Jerry Lopez.
    It's fantastically horrible!

Here's the whole movie if you wanna watch it

    >

Last but not least for today.....a CLASSIC

    Army of Darkness

If you haven't already seen this one, you're in for a treat. It's the last of a trilogy of bad movies, and the last two were so bad they dropped the character name from the story so it's actually Bruce Campbell vs. The Army of Darkness.
It's about a K Mart worker (or in this case "S" mart..... :bluduh ) travels back in time to find the book of death. This is where he finds his A team skills to build up cool stuff to fight the army of the undead. This film is a national treasure. Bruce Campbell is a hero.

if you dont wanna watch it, you can just get all the one liners right here..... and there are A LOT OF THEM

Army of Darkness? You're crazy. That thing is a masterpiece. You just don't see it.

Now, as far as an AHM, I offer Big Money Hustlas

Really, truly, one of the worst movies I've ever seen.....

There is a difference between a bad movie and something like Army of Darkness.

If I had to pick out of a hat, I would have to say Cool as Ice is probably the worst movie I've ever seen...... although Vanilla did all the stunts on the GSXR for the film which makes it slightly less lame

Ranks as a truly, truly horrible movie that tries to take itself seriously, but ends up being a comedy of sorts.

Synopsis: Bad guys hi-jack an Air Force cargo plane while in flight by posing as a refueling tanker and then sliding down the inside of the refueling probe and taking over with the help of a crewmember on the inside. Sexy female pilot and handsome but disgraced male pilot conspire to ruin the bad guys plan to steal two F-117 stealth aircraft being carried by the cargo plane to use in their nefarious terrorist plots.

There is just so much bad about this movie, it's hysterical to watch, especially if you are an actual crewmember on the aircraft that is hijacked.

I don't think the 312th Squadron will ever live it down.

Starship Troopers wasn't that bad. At least not nearly as absolutely horrible as Battlefield Earth.

Another good one, while on the alien theme is They Live starring Rowdy Roddy Piper. An excellent bad movie.

Not sure if Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" fits in here, it was horrible for certain, but awesomely so ...? I don't think it deserves that honourable mention.

I cannot let you guys forget Troll 2 - which is the horrible standard by which other movies are judged. I think this one might actually be Rotten Tomatoes' lowest rated movie.

Basically a family goes on vacation in the woods and these creatures try to get them to drink this goo which makes them turn into trees so they can eat them.
The lead actor was just some random dentist, there was a crazy guy in the movie who was actually crazy. They would take him from the loony bin and shoot then take him back to the loony bin.

it turned into such a cult thing that one of the actors made a documentary about it called "Best Worst Movie"
I used to have a link for it around here somewhere.....

Starship Troopers. Excellent book. Shitfer movie. ...and didya know there's a -2 and a -3? Yup. I didn't either till I got the tri-fuckta pack at wally world for $10. Lent em to a buddy and haven't seen it again.

I'd say most of the T-n-A movies of the 80s fall into this category: last american virgin, student bodies, et al.

I can't think of any truly horrible movies off the cuff, but there'll be some percolating thru my subconscious here soon. Roommates and I used to go looking for em. MST3K but with us making the remarks...

    C.H.U.D - Wow. Awesomely horrible.

The beach - Great book. Shit movie. (like starship troopers)

Prophecy - Got to see it to believe it. (not "the prophecy". just "prophecy" from the late 70's) Awesomely horrible.

How about Krull. I loved this movie as a kid, and it has been playing late night here on tv lately. I re watched to see how bad it really was. It belongs on this list.

holy hell, torque. I about cried during that movie because it was so bad and the image it cast over all bikers. Motor Cyclist actually published a rant of mine where I reference that "film"

That and bikers boyz if for anything else the unbelievable unrealisticness of it...... it was like watching a firefighter see Backdraft
