Any Baja maps out there?

does anyone make downloadable GPS maps of Baja?

I've used them. They're cheap but accurate & they get updated frequently.

These are the same maps as the bicimaps. Dan

I too have used the Bicimapas. They work well and seem acurate. You need do get a freeware program (sendmap) to load, it does not work with mapsource.

Are they the same? Sorry.

If they are the same as the lbmaps, the lbmaps work with mapquest. I didn't need any extra software.

Maybe I am confused here?? Or are the maps the same, but the software wrapping is different?

The Expeditioner TOPO map is the Bicimapas map. We sell both because they both have advantages. The Expeditioner's strong point is the TOPO lines, It has had no updates and none are planned.

The Navigator is written by us and is updated with customer submissions frequently, is more accurate for roads/dirt roads and has many more real world details, Pemexes, etc.

Our maps self install into "MapSource" just like the Garmin maps, and can be combined with the Garmin maps in the map selection for upload to your GPS.

Last time I went I used the Garmin WorldMap (ie not the basemap)
I am not sure they are still producing the CDs for that but it had enough details on it even many dirt roads.
I have my 7 days tracks loaded up on my site (see below)

I purchased the LBmaps Baja map because it was cheaper, and had my money returned cause the Expiditioner had topo data. I later purchased the Expiditioner, and have since used in on my 276C by downloading the maps through mapsource. I strongly recomend the expiditioner map, accurate roads, accurate topo, seamless integration with Garmin mapsource, good maps.

Only if you piss in the sink, then I think yours might be off a bit. I tried to use mine in the house but I have trouble getting a signal.

Do you also take yours to bed with you so you can locate your pillow?

The cost is definetly worth it. Routes and guide's are very well done and she will answer any questions that you have.

i did a loop around and into the coper canyon area in January and used the Bici maps. the maps were awesome. some very remote roads were on them and others were not but overall the maps were a huge plus. Bici maps has a mexico atlas for about the same price. is that the same product?

I want the Magellen 500 with the SD memory and a great price. But I want the LB Baja Maps.

I see “there are a few new things developing” with Magellen which has me leaning in that direction but…we’ll see.

It’s tough wanting it all.

Bicimapas and LBmaps have Baja in a format the eXplorist can use. I have it, and it seems pretty accurate to me.
The 500 package deal out there right now is a screamin' deal.
Magellan also now has all of Mexico on a Mapsend format. I have no idea how good it is.
