It is official! 2014 Dust 2 Dawson will be hosted by the Triple J Hotel. I had another discussion yesterday with Dennis and we are good to go. He has blocked out 30+ rooms which will be at $119 single occ., their tour rate. The rooms and cabins will mostly be around their central parking area where we will hold the bike games. The hotel is closed as of yesterday for the season but bookings can be done by going on line "triplej@yknet.ca" and include "Dust 2 Dawson" in your booking info. I will be working with the hotel to establish a new bike washing station and other biker friendly amenities including direct connections with my services. Stay tuned and start making plans to attend what I expect to be a fresh new look to an awesome don't miss event in the riding season of the north!
You got it MotoMama, you da girl, and who said you had to just come for two nights, just think about coming over early by a day or more spending extra nights and letting the Dick and his wife entertain and play host. Just saying, as de big boys say!
Aggressive spam filter on that email address. I got a bounce note. You might, too. Dick... yknet.ca subscribes to a service that scans email and pretends to eliminate spam. What the filter company really does is block the crap out of incoming mail to force senders to register with their spam filter bullshit service. Uh, then again, my domain & last name has a syllable in it that gets filtered pretty heavily. Might just be me. Pretty aggressively set filter though. That, or somebody in the shop here is spamming again. Not.
Yepper. Here's what these fine folks sent back... If anybody trying to get through to triplej@yknet.ca know that if your email gets bounced the problem is not likely on your end. Your ISP just may have a very bad reputation! GCI can be such a harlot.
Thanks Dick! I was in Florida last week and the BMW dealer in Tampa donated the first swag for 2014. It's on!
I'm in along with my honey Dirtybike! I'm planning an epic trip to Alaska for June 2014 and am tickled this fits in with our plans. Looking forward to meeting you all there
I may be bringing a group of Texicans from the border (El Paso) along but I will be there next summer. I was there in 2010 and D2D makes a great start to the riding season. If any of you want to get out of the approaching Alaskan winter, we have great riding in El Paso year round and my house is mostly empty. May have an extra thumper later this year and we now have a BMW/Harley dealer that rents both. Still can't believe both marques are under the same roof.
We have a group from Iowa that will be heading into town...Can't wait. I also made a request for a hotel.....Filled out form.... hit submit.....Have not hear anything for three weeks.....Anyone else have conformation???
[ I believe it was on their website. QUOTE=01001010 01000011;22527299]Where did you find the form?[/QUOTE]
Thanks, I found it and filled it out. What would be a decent alternate for a room or camping if the J bombs out ? 30 rooms will go quickly. Wondering, is there a thread for bike preps that might be D2D specific? I have a stock 09 KLR with 19k, I have not had to really do anything to it yet other than normal KLR Doo and thermobob.
